Backyard Habitats Spring Break Day Camp

Join Nature Ranger spring day camp and explore the zoo's lesser-known green spaces and nature trail. Activities include animal track hikes, bird watching, take-home nature projects and more. Each day includes games, songs, tours, stories, an animal encounter and fun nature-based science activities. Children may attend one day, several days or all the days offered.

Students are grouped by grades:

  • kindergarteners
  • first graders
  • second graders
  • third graders
  • fourth graders

Backyard Habitats- March 29, 2013

Discover how animals survive and thrive surrounded by people and cities. Explore the Great Northwest exhibit, learn about the Zoo's local conservation projects and be inspired to create a better backyard habitat of your own. From bird feeders to bee and bat houses each age group will have a different project to help animals at home.

Cost and registration

Children may attend one or more days.  Registration fees are refundable, minus a 10 percent administrative fee. Cancellation must be received five working days prior to the camp date.

Zoo members: $38 per child per day
Non-members: $40 per child per day
Pack a lunch or buy a sack lunch for $5 per day. Snacks are provided. (While we do provide vegetarian meal options we are unable to accomodate special diets. If your camper has a special diet please feel free to proide your own lunch and snacks.)
