Opportunities and Challenges for Wildlife Conservation in Malaysian Borneo

Join the Oregon Zoo and the World Forestry Center as we explore wildlife conservation in Sabah, a Malaysian state on the island of Borneo and home to some of the world's most critical habitat for orangutans, Asian elephants and many other species.

Our keynote speaker will be Marc Ancrenaz M.Sc., DVM, scientific director for Hutan and the co-director of the Kinabatangan Orang-Utan Conservation Programme in Sabah. Dr. Ancrenaz will provide us with his perspective on the enormous environmental challenges and opportunities facing Borneo and describe the critical community-based wildlife conservation and education work his organization is undertaking with the support of the Oregon Zoo.

The presentation will take place in Cheatham Hall at the World Forestry Center. Admission is free.
